Biography
Athar Haq, D.O., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Hospital Medicine.
Originally from West Covina, California, Dr. Haq holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of California-San Diego. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathy at Des Moines University in Iowa. He then completed internal medicine residency training at Wayne State University in Detroit.
Dr. Haq joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2014.
Dr. Haq's clinical focus is lung transplant medicine and lung transplant surgery.
Personal Note
Dr. Haq is the president and founder of the first Muslim non-profit organization called A Continuous Charity, which gives non-interest based loans for higher education. He also has three children and loves spending time with them.
