Biography

Jessica Porembka, M.D., is an Associate Professor of Radiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Breast Imaging Division. She also serves as Breast Imaging Medical Director and Quality Assurance Medical Director in Parkland's Radiology Department.

Dr. Porembka holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Yale University. She earned her medical degree at Washington University in St. Louis and completed her residency in radiology at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, where she also received advanced training in breast imaging through a fellowship program.

Before joining the UT Southwestern faculty in 2014, Dr. Porembka served as a clinical staff radiologist at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Her research interests include tomosynthesis, radioactive seed localization, and breast ultrasound.

At UT Southwestern, Dr. Porembka's commitment to quality assurance is demonstrated by her participation in the Quality Education Committee and the Quality Committee. Her dedication to patient care is evidenced by her service on the Contrast Reaction Task Force and the Multidisciplinary Tumor Board.

She is also an active member of several international and national societies, including the Radiological Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society, Society of Breast Imaging, American College of Radiology, and Texas Medical Association.
