Weiguo Lu, Ph.D. Titles and Appointments Professor School Medical School Department Radiation Oncology Graduate Programs Biomedical Engineering Biography Weiguo Lu, Ph.D., is a Professor of Radiation Oncology at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he is part of the Department of Radiation Oncology’s Division of Medical Physics and Engineering. Dr. Lu earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nuclear physics from Peking University, China. He also earned two master’s degrees in medical physics and computer science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, followed by a Ph.D. in medical physics from the same institution. He subsequently worked at TomoTherapy Inc., starting as a medical physicist and ultimately becoming their Director of Innovation and Physics. Afterwards, Dr. Lu served as 21st Century Oncology’s Director of research before joining UTSW’s Department of Radiation Oncology in 2014. Dr. Lu is a co-founder of Neural Rad LLC as of 2019. He is board-certified by the American Board of Radiology and holds a Texas Medical Board medical physics license.
