Sharon Pond Nations, M.D., is a Professor in the Department of Neurology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in neuromuscular disorders. She also serves as co-Director of the Muscular Dystrophy Association clinic at UT Southwestern.

Dr. Nations earned her medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She completed a residency in neurology at Baylor College of Medicine. She received advanced training through a fellowship in neurophysiology at UT Southwestern.

Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Nations joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 1996.

Dr. Nations’ research interests include ALS, myasthenia gravis, myopathies and CIDP, and she has been involved in multiple clinical trials in these areas. She serves as a reviewer for Archives of Neurology, Neurology, Clinical Neuromuscular Disorders, and Muscle & Nerve.

Dr. Nations is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine.
