Biography

Emily Knippa, M.D., is an Associate Professor of Radiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Breast Imaging Division

Dr. Knippa holds a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology from Princeton University. She earned her medical degree at Duke University School of Medicine, where she remained to complete her residency training in radiology and fellowship training in breast imaging.

Prior to joining the UT Southwestern faculty in 2013, Dr. Knippa served as a radiologist and locum radiologist at medical centers throughout North Carolina, Kentucky, and Indiana. 

Dr. Knippa's research interests include positron emission mammography, optimization of non-contrast magnetic resonance imaging methods for the detection and characterization of breast malignancies, and management of probably benign and high-risk breast lesions.
