Biography Ryan Bishop, M.D., FACC, FAAP, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in fetal and echocardiographic imaging. Dr. Bishop's clinical interests include fetal, transthoracic, transesophageal, and three-dimensional echocardiographic imaging. His research interests include echocardiography quality improvement and echocardiography-based AI model development. He joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2025. Dr. Bishop earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. He received his medical degree at McGovern Medical School in Houston, Texas. Dr. Bishop completed his pediatric residency at UT Southwestern and Children’s Medical Center Dallas, where he served as a Chief Resident. He completed his pediatric cardiology fellowship and an advanced imaging fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. Dr. Bishop was selected for an American Society of Echocardiography Foundation Travel Grant in 2025. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Bishop is also a member of the American Society of Echocardiography, the Society of Pediatric Echocardiography, and the American Heart Association.
