Sunny Lai, M.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Hospital Medicine-PHHS.

Dr. Lai travelled a lot in his childhood but eventually settled in Houston, Texas. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Texas at Austin. He then went on to receive his MD and complete his residency in internal medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

His experiences caring for the underserved population during his training led him to return to Parkland as a hospitalist.

His interests outside of medicine include his Christian faith, playing the violin, basketball, and board games.
