Joshi, MB, BS, MD, FFARCSI is Professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. He is also the Director of Perioperative Medicine and Ambulatory Anesthesia at Parkland Health and Hospital Systems, Dallas, Texas. Dr Joshi received his medical degree (M.B., B.S.) and Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from B. J. Medical College at the University of Pune, India. He received his FFARCSI from the College of Anaesthetists, Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland, and then received another M.D. degree from the University College Dublin, Ireland. Dr. Joshi has published extensively. He has authored or co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed journal articles, case reports, editorials and abstracts as well as numerous book chapters and is the editor of a book on anesthesia. He performs reviews for several prestigious journals including Anesthesiology, Anesthesia and Analgesia, Journal of Clinical Anesthesia, and Postgraduate Journal. Dr. Joshi has made numerous presentations as a visiting professor and invited lecturer. He has also attended several National and International meetings as a speaker. Dr. Joshi is a member of many professional societies, including the Association of University Anesthesiologists, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists, the International Anesthesia Research Society, and the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia (SAMBA). He serves on the Board the Board of Directors and numerous committees of the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists and was the President of SAMBA.
