Biography
Gerald Isbell III, M.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of Digestive and Liver Diseases.
Originally from Florida, Dr. Isbell holds a medical degree from Wake Forest University, and completed his residency and fellowship training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He completed an additional two years as faculty at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center before moving to Dallas to establish his medical practice. His clinical interest include but are not limited to gastrointestinal cancer screening, intestinal cancer prevention and inflammatory bowel disease.
Certified by the American Board of Gastroenterology, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022. Dr. Isbell is also a member of the Texas Medical Association and Dallas County Medical Society.
Dr. Isbell’s outside interests include exploring the natural world; backpacking, farming and ranching.
