Biography
Dr. Harvey, a seasoned professional in the field of epileptology, joined UT Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW) initially in 1994. After a short tenure at UTSW, Dr. Harvey assisted in developing comprehensive level 4 epilepsy centers in north Dallas and participated in numerous clinical trials. Upon returning to UTSW in 2017, Dr. Harvey focuses on refractory epilepsy, surgical intervention, neuromodulation, electroencephalography (EEG), and invasive EEG monitoring as a leading expert in epilepsy management. His research area centers on conducting clinical drug and device trials in epilepsy, contributing significantly to advancements in treatment modalities. In 2024, he was named Medical Director of the EEG and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) at Parkland Hospital and Health Services.
Dr. Harvey leads programs that drive innovation and excellence in patient care. With a passion for improving outcomes for individuals with epilepsy, Dr. Harvey combines clinical expertise with cutting-edge research to make a lasting impact in the treatment of epilepsy.
