Steven Souders, M.P.A.S.

Professor Souders is a Board-Certified Physician Assistant who joined UT Southwestern in September 2026.  He brings with him a diverse background of leadership and success in multiple career fields including hospitality management, the military and pharmaceutical sales.  He earned his Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in 2015 and his undergraduate degree in Business Management from San Diego State University in 2000.

Prior to joining the faculty at the UT Southwestern Physician Assistant Studies Program, Professor Souders worked in physical medicine, neurosurgery and, most recently, interventional pain management.  His clinical interests include patient-centered care and integrating cross-disciplinary therapeutic interventions.  His passion centers on developing people through coaching, teaching, mentoring and genuine engagement.
