Dr. Tina Kaviani is clinical faculty in the department of Psychiatry. She joined faculty following her final year of residency when she served as Chief Resident and was a graduate of the Clinician-Educator Track. As faculty, she cares for adults with a wide range of acute psychiatric illnesses on the inpatient psychiatry unit and provides consultation liaison services at Zale-Lipshy University Hospital. She is directing resident and medical student education on the inpatient unit and serves on the Psychiatry Residency Education Committee. In addition to her roles as a clinician and educator, Dr. Kaviani is a psychoanalytic candidate at the Dallas Psychoanalytic Institute. Her interests include psychodynamic, psychoanalytic and supportive psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, psychiatry education, and improving systems-based care.
