Nancy Monson, Ph.D., is a pioneering neuroimmunologist specializing in immunogenetics and the impact of adaptive immunity on diseases of the central nervous system. She holds a dual appointment in the Department of Neurology and Immunology.

Research: Dr. Monson facilitates research across multiple disciplines including immunology, genetics, physiology, and neuroscience, particularly in arenas that require active collaborations with clinicians.

Dr. Monson and Dr. Greenberg established the UT Southwestern Neuroscience Biorepository. The Neuroscience Biorepository is designed to facilitate translational research by providing high-quality, deeply annotated biospecimens for laboratory and clinical research. PIs can request the recruitment of special patient populations under the existing IRB-approved protocol.

    Her research is focused on:

    • Antibody Genetics of Multiple Sclerosis and their Targets
    • Mechanism of Action Studies in Multiple Sclerosis
    • Alzheimer's Disease
    • Autoimmune Encephalitis
    • Gulf War Illness
