Biography

Steven Hudak, M.D., is an Associate Professor and Residency Program Director in the Department of Urology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in urologic trauma, prosthetics, and reconstructive genitourinary surgery. 

Dr. Hudak earned his medical degree at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. He completed a residency in urology at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium and received advanced training in urologic trauma, reconstruction, and prosthetics through a fellowship at UT Southwestern. 

Certified by the American Board of Urology, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2019. 

Dr. Hudak serves on the board of directors for the Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons. He is a member of the American Urological Association (AUA), where he has served on multiple prominent committees and is the current Chair of the AUA Young Urologists Committee. Before coming to UT Southwestern, he had a 15-year active duty military career, during which time he received two Meritorious Service Medals, an Army Commendation Medal, six Army Achievement Medals, and ultimately achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

Dr. Hudak has delivered numerous regional, national, and international presentations, contributed to the book Hinman's Atlas of Urologic Surgery, 4th edition, and published countless academic articles related to urologic trauma, prosthetics, and reconstructive genitourinary surgery.
