  • Biography

    Dr. Zaiba Jetpuri is a Dallas-Fort Worth native originally from Richardson, Texas. She earned her undergraduate degrees in Biology and Business Administration, as well as her Master of Business Administration degree, from The University of Texas at Dallas. She subsequently completed medical school at the University of North Texas Health Science Center – Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, followed by residency training in Family Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Hospital.

    During residency, Dr. Jetpuri developed strong interests in preventive medicine, pediatrics, medical education, and community health. Her scholarly work focused on pediatric access to care and community-based research initiatives, earning her Departmental Distinction in Pediatrics. She additionally completed a Certificate in Public Health through The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and later pursued advanced training in Integrative Medicine through the University of Arizona Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine.

    Following residency, Dr. Jetpuri joined the UT Southwestern Department of Family and Community Medicine faculty, where she now serves as Residency Program Director and Associate Professor. She is actively involved in undergraduate and graduate medical education, curriculum development, faculty development, and resident mentorship. Her educational interests include competency-based medical education, simulation-based learning, procedural education, wellness, and transition-to-residency training.

    Dr. Jetpuri has developed and led numerous curricula for medical students and residents, including longitudinal pediatric curricula, procedural workshops, residency preparation courses, and academic leadership initiatives. She maintains a broad-spectrum clinical practice in family medicine and enjoys caring for patients across all stages of life.

    In addition to her institutional leadership roles, Dr. Jetpuri is active nationally in family medicine education through the Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors (AFMRD), the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM), and the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME). She has received multiple awards recognizing excellence in teaching, leadership, mentorship, and patient care.

    Dr. Jetpuri is Board Certified in Family Medicine and is committed to helping her patients lead healthier lives by providing holistic care that emphasizes prevention, patient education, and shared decision-making. She enjoys caring for patients across all stages of life and has particular interests in women’s health, preventive medicine, and in chronic conditions like High Blood Pressure, Diabetes and Hyperlipidemia which has made her committed to early detection. She values building long-term relationships with patients and families and believes strongly in empowering patients through education and collaborative care approaches that support overall physical, emotional, and community well-being. 

    Outside of medicine, she participates at community health fairs, enjoys time with her four children, exploring new restaurants, and visits local parks and museums.
