Biography

Pedro Castillo, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center, and a member of its Division of Rheumatic Diseases. His clinical interests include scleroderma and rheumatoid arthritis.

Originally from San Antonio, Dr. Castillo holds a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of San Antonio. He earned his medical degree at UT Southwestern, where he also completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in rheumatology. During his fellowship, he engaged in a quality improvement project at Parkland Memorial Hospital related to pulmonary hypertension and interstitial lung disease screening in systemic sclerosis.

Board certified in rheumatology and internal medicine, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2020.

Dr. Castillo is a member of the American Medical Association and the American College of Rheumatology.

Among other honors, he is a past recipient of the UT Southwestern Alumni Scholarship.
