Mohammed Al-Obaidi, D.M.D., M.D., has two medical degrees—a doctorate in dental medicine from the University of Kentucky and a doctorate in medicine from UT Southwestern. He later received advanced training as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon at UT Southwestern and was recruited to its surgery faculty, where he has served as an assistant professor since 2017.

Dr. Al-Obaidi is active in his professional community and has written about imaging and surgical techniques and authored a book chapter on facial fractures. He is the recipient of numerous scholarships, most recently from the Osteo Science Foundation, which supports research in oral and cranio-maxillofacial surgery, as well as from the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American College of Surgeons, and American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
