Biography David Lehenbauer, M.D. is a pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon at Children’s Health℠ who specializes in neonatal heart surgery, caring for congenital heart conditions and treating heart failure. Dr. Lehenbauer earned his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Memorial Hospital, followed by cardiothoracic surgery residency training at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. He went on to complete a fellowship in congenital cardiac surgery at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Lehenbauer is an Associate Professor in the Department of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery and serves as Surgical Director for Heart Transplantation and Mechanical Circulatory Support at Children's Health. In addition to expertise in the surgical management of heart failure, he brings extensive knowledge of tracheal and airway surgery.
