Biography Divya Srivastava, M.D., is a Professor and the Director of Mohs Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in the treatment of skin cancer. Dr. Srivastava completed her undergraduate education at Yale University, where she graduated cum laude in biology. She subsequently earned her medical degree at the New York University School of Medicine and completed her residency in dermatology at Henry Ford Hospital, where she served as chief resident. She pursued a fellowship in procedural dermatology at UT Southwestern, where she received advanced training in Mohs micrographic surgery, reconstructive surgery, and cosmetic dermatology. A board-certified dermatologist, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2010. Dr. Srivastava provides high-quality and compassionate care to patients with skin cancer and aging skin. She is an expert in treating skin cancer, helping to provide the best possible cure rates and cosmetic outcomes. She uses Mohs micrographic surgery, which is a specialized technique that involves surgically removing a skin cancer, examining all of the edges under the microscope, and repairing the area. This technique is commonly used for basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas as well as some early melanomas and other rare skin cancers. The procedure has minimal risks and is performed under local anesthesia, enabling patients to speak to the doctors and nurses throughout the process and truly understand what’s taking place. For advanced skin cancers, Dr. Srivastava works with her physician colleagues in other specialties to ensure each patient receives the most comprehensive care needed for their skin cancer. In addition to her practice, she is the Director for the Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology Fellowship and enjoys teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Dr. Srivastava has authored textbook chapters and research articles, and she regularly speaks at national meetings. She is also an active advocate in health care, serving on the board of directors of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and in the American Medical Association’s House of Delegates. She is also a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the American College of Mohs Surgery. She has been voted by her peers as one of D Magazine’s Best Doctors in Dallas every year since 2015.
