Biography

Dr. Kelly Wu is originally from Houston. She received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University. She returned to Texas to complete medical school at Texas Tech University School of Medicine. After finishing a residency in internal medicine at UT Southwestern in 2012, she joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine, working in the Hospital Medicine Division. It is at Parkland Hospital where she developed a passion for working with the underserved population of Dallas County. After four years as a hospitalist at Parkland, Dr. Wu moved to Philadelphia to start a position at the University of Pennsylvania, working at Pennsylvania Hospital. She spent two years there as an academic hospitalist, primarily teaching residents and medical students. During her time at UPenn, she was nominated for 2 teaching awards. Drawn by the opportunity to return to Texas, she rejoined the Hospital Medicine Division at UTSW in September of 2018. Dr. Wu brings to UTSW a strong background in hospital medicine and medical education. Her clinical practice emphasizes patient-centered care. Dr. Wu’s interests outside of medicine include spending time with her family, international travel, cooking, yoga and hiking.
