  • Biography

    Strahinja Stojadinovic, Ph.D., is a Professor in UT Southwestern Medical Center’s Department of Radiation Oncology and faculty in the Department’s Division of Medical Physics & Engineering. He is the Department’s lead physicist for the stereotactic Gamma Knife service and is a co-director of the UT Southwestern Gamma Knife Training Program. He is a board-certified therapeutic medical physicist by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) and licensed by the Texas Medical Board (TMB) to practice clinical medical physics.

    Dr. Stojadinovic's academic background includes a bachelor's degree in experimental physics from the University of Belgrade in Serbia. He subsequently earned his Ph.D. in experimental solid-state physics from Kent State University. Following his doctoral studies, Dr. Stojadinovic completed a postdoctoral fellowship in radiation oncology at Washington University in Saint Louis and his medical physics residency training at Virginia Commonwealth University before joining UT Southwestern.

    Dr. Stojadinovic has established a distinguished record of significant contributions across a broad spectrum of radiotherapy research since joining UT Southwestern. His interests encompass the development and utilization of preclinical irradiation systems, brachytherapy, patient-specific quality assurance, stereotactic radiosurgery, and the application of artificial intelligence in radiotherapy. 

    At UT Southwestern Dr. Stojadinovic has had extensive teaching experience. He served as Associate Director of the Department of Radiation Oncology’s Clinical Medical Physics Residency Program from 2018 to 2021. His teaching portfolio encompasses contributions to the Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) Training Program, the Postdoctoral Certificate Program, the Radiation Oncology Medical Residency Program, and the former Radiation Therapy Program. Dr. Stojadinovic's course lectures have spanned a wide range of topics in radiation therapy physics. He currently serves as the Physics Director and lecturer for the internationally recognized Gamma Knife Training Program. He also serves as a reviewer for prestigious publications including the Journal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Medical Physics, and Physics in Medicine and Biology.
