Biography Jamie Morgan, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center within the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine. She earned undergraduate degrees in Biology and Spanish Literature from Swarthmore College and received her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Morgan completed her residency training and fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at UT Southwestern and joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2016. Dr. Morgan’s academic and research interests focus on obstetrical quality and safety, maternal disease in pregnancy, obstetric critical care, and optimization of postpartum care. Since joining the faculty, she has held numerous institutional leadership roles, including serving as Simulation Director for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology from 2020 to 2023. Since 2023, she has served as Maternal Medical Director at UT Southwestern's William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital, a Level IV Maternal Center equipped to care for the most complex obstetric cases. At the regional level, Dr. Morgan leads quality improvement initiatives as Deputy Medical Director for TexasAIM, a statewide program funded by the Texas Department of State Health Services focused on reducing maternal morbidity and mortality. She also serves as Obstetric Co‑Chair for the Texas Collaborative for Healthy Mothers and Babies, the state’s Perinatal Quality Collaborative. Nationally, Dr. Morgan contributes to maternal safety efforts as a Clinical Champion for the Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health (AIM) and recently completed a three‑year term on the Society for Maternal‑Fetal Medicine Patient Safety and Quality Committee, serving as a liaison to the Health Policy and Advocacy Committee and authoring multiple peer‑reviewed publications. Dr. Morgan has been recognized as a Texas Monthly Rising Star or Super Doctor annually since 2019, a Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2021, and a D Magazine Best Doctor in 2024. She has been a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society since 2009.
