Biography

Hyemi Chong, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of General Internal Medicine.

Originally from Seoul, South Korea, Dr. Chong holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. She then earned her medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She completed internal medicine residency training at Washington University in St. Louis/Barnes-Jewish Hospital, where she was Chief Resident.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Chong joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2017. She is currently the Assistant Chief of Medical Service at the VA North Texas Health Care System in Dallas, as well as the Site Director for the internal medicine residency program at the VA.

At The VA North Texas Health Care System, Dr. Chong serves on the Peer Review Committee and the Resident Advisory Council. At UT Southwestern, Dr. Chong is a member of the Clinical Competency Committee for the internal medicine residency program, as well as the Program Evaluation Committee.

Dr. Chong is a member of the American College of Physicians.
