Biography James Mitlyng, M.D., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center, and a member of the Division of General Internal Medicine. Originally from Lincoln, Nebraska, Dr. Mitlyng holds a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Texas at Austin. He earned his medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical Center and went on to complete internal medicine residency training at UT Southwestern as well. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Mitlyng joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2013. He was previously staffed at Baylor Plano, Baylor McKinney, and Heart Hospital of Plano. Dr. Mitlyng is on the EMR Optimization Physicians Group committee at UT Southwestern. Personal Note Outside of medicine, Dr. Mitlyng is an active Deacon, Elder, and Board Chairman at First Christian Church in Weston, Texas.
