Johnson, MD MPH FACS, is the Beth and Marvin "Cob" Culbertson Professor in Pediatric Otolaryngology and the Director of Quality and Safety for the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He is also the Editor in Chief of Laryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology, the Triological Society's open-access journal. Dr. Johnson earned his medical degree at the Drexel University School of Medicine (formerly MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine). He completed an otolaryngology residency at the Baylor College of Medicine and a pediatric fellowship at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Johnson received a Bachelor of Science in biology from Lincoln University of Pennsylvania and a Masters of Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr. Johnson's research interests include pediatric tracheostomy, peritonsillar abscess, subglottic stenosis, obstructive sleep apnea, vocal cord paralysis, quality improvement, and airway simulation. His clinical interests include pediatric aerodigestive disorders. Dr. Johnson is a Fellow of the Triological Society; the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery; and the American College of Surgeons; as well as an active member of the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology, the American Broncho-Esophagological Association, the American Laryngological Association, the Harry Barnes Medical Society, the National Medical Association, and the Society of Black Academic Surgeons.
