Jon Oden, M.D.
Dr. Oden holds undergraduate and medical degrees from Texas Tech University, where he completed a residency in pediatrics as well. He went on to do his fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at Duke University Medical Center . Immediately following the completion of his fellowship in 2003, which included an extensive study of lactogenic hormones and adipose tissue development, he served his community as an associate faculty member at Duke University while he completed his research, until he joined the Pediatric Endocrinology team at UT Southwestern as an Assistant Professor in 2004. He became board certified in Pediatrics in 1997. Dr. Oden is an attending physician at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas and is on staff at its Endocrinology Center where he treats patients in a teaching environment. He intends to expand his role in the near future by participating in clinical research involving the effects of a new rapid-acting insulin for Type 1 diabetes in children. His activity in the endocrinology community continues as he is pursuing future research in obesity, insulin resistance, and Type 2 diabetes.
