  • Biography

    Christopher Chaney, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Hospital Medicine

    Originally from Odessa, Texas, Dr. Chaney holds bachelor's degrees in biochemistry and mathematics from Abilene Christian University. He earned his medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He completed internal medicine residency training at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium.

    While serving in the United States Army as Captain and Major, Dr. Chaney earned the Bronze Star Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, and the Combat Medical Badge. He garnered experience practicing medicine in settings ranging from austere combat environments to large academic medical centers.

    Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Chaney joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2014.

    Dr. Chaney is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Medical Association.

    Personal Note

    Outside of medicine, Dr. Chaney enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and Crossfit.
