Qi Fu, M.D., Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Cardiology.

Dr. Fu earned her medical degree and a master of science in neurology at the Suzhou University School of Medicine in China. She then earned her Ph.D. in autonomic neuroscience at the Nagoya University School of Medicine in Japan. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship under Dr. Benjamin Levine at the Institute for Exercise and Environmental Medicine at Texas Health Presbyterian in Dallas.

Dr. Fu joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2004. She is currently the Director of the Women's Heart Health Laboratory at the Institute for Exercise and Environmental Medicine at Texas Health Presbyterian.

Dr. Fu is a member of the American Autonomic Society and the American Physiology Society. She is also an Associate Editor and Ad Hoc Reviewer for several medical journals and other publications. She is on the Editorial Board of Clinical Autonomic Research ad Clinical and Translational Physiology.

Dr. Fu's research interests include hypertension, heart disease, cardiovascular function in older women and pregnant women, and racial disparities in cardiac care. Her research has led to multiple grants, peer-reviewed publications, and clinical trials. She has given numerous lectures nationally and internationally.
