Biography

Vivek Patel, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and a member of the Division of Hospital Medicine.

Originally from Norristown, Pennsylvania, Dr. Patel holds a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering from Texas A&M University in College Station. He earned his medical degree and completed internal medicine residency training at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Patel joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2010. He is currently the Medical Director of the UT Southwestern Hospitalists at Parkland Health and Hospital System. He is also Chair of the Parkland Hospital Peer Review Oversight Committee.

Dr. Patel is a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine.
