Dr. Monaghan completed her residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology at Northwestern University.  She completed her fellowship in hematopathology at UT Southwestern Medical Center in 2003.  She returned to UT Southwestern Medical Center in 2011 and currently serves as director for the hematology pathology fellowship and as director for hematology at Parkland Hospital.  She is also currently chair of the education committee for the Society for Hematopathology.  Her research interests include myeloma and myelodysplastic syndromes/related diseases.  Her interests outside of medicine are her family, meditation, and the cultivation of wisdom and compassion.
