Binu Thomas, Ph.D. Assistant Professor School Medical School Department Advanced Imaging Research Center | Peter O'Donnell Jr. Brain Institute | Radiology Graduate Programs Biomedical Engineering Biography Dr. Thomas is an Assistant Professor at the Advanced Imaging Research Center, Department of Biomedical Engineering, and the Department of Radiology at UT Southwestern. He also has an adjunct appointment at the Department of Bioengineering at UT Arlington and the Department of Biomedical Engineering at UT Dallas. He received his bachelor's from Mumbai University and master's and PhD degrees in Biomedical Engineering from UT Southwestern jointly with UT Arlington. His PhD research was focused on technical developments in cerebrovascular reactivity to carbon-dioxide in humans and its applications to assess changes in aging and mild cognitive impairment. His post-doctoral research at UT Dallas was in neuroscience and neuroimaging. As Assistant Professor at UT Southwestern, he has broadened his research to understand brain vascular function, metabolism and physiology in aging, mild cognitive impairment, hypertension, obesity and its comorbidities as it relates to dementia risk.
