Biography Dr. Ulualp is an Associate Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in pediatric otolaryngology with a special emphasis on the care of children with obstructive sleep apnea, dysphagia, and otitis media. Dr. Ulualp earned his medical degree at Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Medical School. He completed a residency in otorhinolaryngology at the Haydarpasa Numune Training and Research Hospital in Istanbul.He completed pediatric otolaryngology fellowship training at Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, State University of New York at Buffalo, New York. He served as the Director of Pediatric Otolaryngology and the Medical Director of Specialty Care Clinic at University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston prior to joining UT Southwestern Medical Center. Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery with a subcertification in Complex Pediatric Otolaryngology, Dr. Ulualp joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2007. Dr. Ulualp applies multidisciplinary team approach in his practice. His practice style is based on performing the assessment of the patient’s problem through careful listening and explaining the diagnosis and management in simple terms to achieve mutual understanding. Dr. Ulualp was recognized as a Best Doctor in Dallas by D Magazine. Dr. Ulualp’s research interests include obstructive sleep apnea, pediatric airway, voice and swallowing disorders, outcomes analysis for pediatric otolaryngologic disorders and pediatric safety and quality improvement. Dr. Ulualp is on the Editorial Board of multiple scientific journals and serves as ad hoc reviewer for more than 15 journals. He has over 90 peer-reviewed and invited scholarly articles and book chapters.
