  • Biography

    Carol Abousaab, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of General Internal Medicine

    Originally from Houston, Texas, Dr. Abousaab holds a bachelor's degree in  biochemistry from the University of Texas in Austin, where she graduated with honors. She earned her medical degree and completed internal medicine residency training at UT Southwestern. She received advanced training through a fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York.

    Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Abousaab joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024. She works in Palliative Medicine, which enables her to provide holistic palliative care to patients of all backgrounds and work with medical trainees.

    Dr. Abousaab's personal interests include reading, travel, and spending times with loved ones.
