Young-Jai You, Ph.D. Associate Professor School Medical School Department Internal Medicine Biography Young-Jai You, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Center for Hypothalamic Research. Originally from Seoul, South Korea, Dr. You holds a bachelor's degree in biology and a master's degree in physiology from Yonsei University in Korea. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in genetics in feeding under Dr. Leon Avery at UT Southwestern. Dr. You originally joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2008 as an Instructor in the Department of Pharmacology. She later went on to be a faculty member at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, and Nagoya University in Nagoya, Japan, before returning to the UT Southwestern faculty in 2020. Dr. You's research interests include appetite control, metabolism, and satiety behavior. Her findings have resulted in multiple clinical trials, peer-reviewed articles, reviews, and book chapters.
