  • Biography

    Anneka Hutton, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern and a member of its Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.

    Dr. Hutton holds a bachelor's degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo, which she earned cum laude. She received her medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada and completed internal medicine residency training at Florida Atlantic University. She then obtained advanced training through a fellowship in pulmonary anc critical care medicine from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

    Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with a subspecialty certification in pulmonary disease, Dr. Hutton joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2025.

    Her clinical and research interests include chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pulmonary infections, and translational research using spatial transcriptomics to better understand disease pathogenesis, including tuberculosis and sarcoidosis.

    Dr. Hutton is an active member of the American Thoracic Society, the American College of Chest Physicians, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
