Biography Adnan Khan, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. His clinical interests include advanced lung disease and lung transplantation. Dr. Khan holds a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of California Los Angeles. He earned his medical degree at the University of Queensland in Australia and completed internal medicine residency training at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System, where he also served as Chief Resident in Quality and Safety. He received additional training through a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Cedars Sinai Health System in Los Angeles. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, and critical care medicine, Dr. Khan joined the UT Southwestern Faculty in 2024. Dr. Khan's research interests include identifying predictive pre-transplant donor and recipient factors that affect outcomes after lung transplantation. His investigations have led to publications in peer-reviewed journals, and he has presented his findings at conferences. Dr. Khan is active in several professional societies, including the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT), the American Thoracic Society (ATS), and the American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST). In his spare time, Dr. Khan enjoys hiking, with a goal of hiking in all 63 national parks in the United States.
