  • Biography

    Nathan DeRon, Jr., D.O., is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of Hospital Medicine. His clinical interests include untilizaton management, preventative medicine, and advanced heart failure.

    Originally from Groves, Texas, Dr. DeRon holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Texas at Austin and a second bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Texas at Dallas. He earned his medical degree from the Uninversity of North Texas and completed internal medicine residency training at Methodist Dallas Medical Center.

    Dr. DeRon joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024. He is active in several professional societies, including the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, and the American Heart Assocation.

    Dr. DeRon's research interests include cardiovascular risk factor modification and clinical applications of novel biomarkers for cardiovascular health. His research has been published in peer reviewed journals. In addition, he has presented his findings at scientific conferences.

    Outside of medicine, Dr. DeRon's interests include cooking, reading, and traveling.
