Biography

Ashley Twyman, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of Hospital Medicine. Her clinical interests include general internal medicine and sports medicine. Her clinical activities are based at William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital, Zale-Lipshy Pavilion, and Texas Health Frisco.

I chose the field of internal medicine because I wanted to be able to help and treat patients with a broad range of conditions.

Originally from Louisiana, Dr. Twyman holds a bachelor's degree in biology from Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport, where she graduated magna cum laude. She earned her medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Services Center in Shreveport, and completed internal medicine residency training at the University of Louisville in Kentucky.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2021, Dr. Twyman joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024.

Personal Note

Dr. Twyman's interests outside of medicine include spending time with family and friends, traveling, playing and coaching ultimate frisbee, and playing Australian football for the North Texas Devils (NTX Devils), flag football for the Red Flags, and pickleball with her father.
