  • Biography

    Dr. Xiaoyu "Norman" Pan, MD, PhD, MPH, currently serves as a Research Instructor at UT Southwestern Medical Center in the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R). As a junior faculty member, Dr. Pan focuses on the transitional care of cerebral palsy, the caregiver burden of (pediatric) cancer survivors, health service research in cancer rehabilitation, and sports and spine rehabilitation. He has co-authored over 30 peer-reviewed articles.

    Dr. Pan obtained his MD-PhD from Soochow University and Peking University in China, and a Master of Public Health from Harvard University. He has received several prestigious awards and scholarships, including the Harvard Chan Central Grant, the Harvard China Fellowship Fund, the First Prize Scholarship at Peking University, and the National Scholarship of China. He graduated from medical school as the commencement speaker and was honored as a Chun-Tsung Scholar.

    Dr. Pan serves as a reviewer for the scientific abstract of AAPM&R and AAP annual meeting, Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research, Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, International Journal of Biological Sciences, Frontiers in Nutrition, Frontiers in Endocrinology, and Frontiers in Surgery. Additionally, Dr. Pan is an active member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R), the Associations of Academic Physiatrists (AAP), the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (ACRM), and the American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine (AACPDM).
