Biography Edward Mims, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and a member of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. Originally from San Antonio, Dr. Mims holds a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering from Texas A&M University in College Station. He earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He completed internal medicine residency training at the University of California- San Diego, followed by a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in pulmonary and critical care medicine, Dr. Mims joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2020. Dr. Mims is a member of the American Thoracic Society, the Texas Medical Association, and the Tarrant County Medical Society.
