Biography Kabir Olaniaran, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Nephrology. Originally from Nigeria, Dr. Olaniran earned his medical degree at the University of Lagos, Nigeria. He completed internal medicine residency training at Lincoln Medical Center in the Bronx, New York, where he also served as Chief Medical Resident. He completed advanced training through a fellowship in nephrology at Harvard Medical School. He also holds a Master of Public Health degree from Harvard University. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in nephrology, Dr. Olaniran joined the University of Texas Southwestern faculty in 2019. His primary clinical and research interest is kidney disorders in people with sickle cell disease and sickle cell trait. Personal Note Dr. Olaniran’s interests outside of medicine include spending time with his wife and two children, traveling, and photography.
