Many of his patients are astounded to receive emails from him on holidays or calls after hours to check on their progress after surgery.

As the immediate Past President of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), he served as the national leader for the world’s largest organization of board-certified plastic surgeons dedicated to cosmetic surgery and medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. 

Dr. Kenkel appears in the media regularly to provide comments on plastic surgery issues. This has included Newsweek, Allure, CNN, WFAA, Good Morning America, the New York Times, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, and many other media outlets.

He has been named as a U.S. News & World Report Best Doctor, one of America's Top Plastic Surgeons, and been selected as one of D Magazine’s Best Doctors in Dallas and Texas Monthly’s Super Docs.

Dr. Kenkel has authored more than 100 scientific articles and textbook chapters on lasers, facial, and body contouring surgery. He is the Editor of Selected Readings in Plastic Surgery, the most up-to-date teaching tool for plastic surgeons in training and in practice in the United States and 38 foreign countries. He is Associate Editor of the Aesthetic Surgery Journal, the largest scientific journal dedicated to the practice of aesthetic surgery, and is actively involved in the education of plastic surgeons around the country, speaking about lasers and aesthetic plastic surgery

In addition to helping thousands of individual patients throughout his career, Dr. Kenkel is the team plastic surgeon for the Dallas Stars hockey team.
