  • Biography

Dr. Parastoo Sabaeifard earned her Ph.D. in Biology-Microbiology from Alzahra University in Tehran, Iran, in collaboration with the University of Navarra in Spain. Her doctoral and postdoctoral training established expertise in antibiotic resistance, bacterial biofilms, drug delivery using polymeric nanoparticles, and immune-oncology model development.

Dr. Sabaeifard is currently an assistant professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where her multidisciplinary work focuses on the interplay between the gut microbiota, host immune responses, and tumor immunity, as well as the development of preclinical humanized mouse models for translational immuno-oncology studies. In addition to her scientific accomplishments, Dr. Sabaeifard is deeply engaged in mentorship and scientific training, having supervised graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and clinical researchers.

Outside of research, she enjoys exploring new cultures through travel and food, reading, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
