Biography
William C. Daniel, M.D., M.B.A, FACC, is Vice President and Chief Medical and Quality Officer (CQO) at UT Southwestern Medical School, He holds a secondary appointment as a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and is a member of the Division of Cardiology. Dr. Daniel is a leader in driving clinical improvement, quality measures, and measurable outcomes; as well as positive transformational changes.
Dr. Daniel earned his medical degree from UT Southwestern and completed internal medicine residency training at Washington University/Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He received additional training through a cardiology fellowship at UT Southwestern, followed by a cardiovascular interventional fellowship at Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute. He also holds a bachelor's in English from Princeton University.
Prior to joining the facutly of UT Southwestern in 2016, Dr. Daniel served as Vice President and Chief Quality Officer at Saint Luke’s Health System in Kansas City, Missouri, a 10-hospital system that won national recognition for quality. His previous titles include Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Missouri in Kansas City and Medical Director for Quality at the Mid America Heart Institute.
