Laurie Sutor, M.D.

Professor

Department: Pathology

Biography

Born in Illinois, I went to Colorado College for an undergraduate degree in Biology, then on to Emory University for medical school. I moved to Dallas in 1985 for pathology training at UT Southwestern, meeting my future husband (not in the health care field!) almost as soon as I got to Dallas. I joined the faculty after graduation to practice and teach blood banking and transfusion medicine. I am currently Vice President of Medical and Technical Services at Carter BloodCare, the community blood collection center, and medical director at Transplant Services Center, the campus eye and tissue bank. My practice spans a wide variety of interests from blood donation and collection to therapeutic apheresis to hematopoietic progenitor cell collection and processing.
