Biography Dr. Guiner-da Silva is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. She practices as a pediatric emergency medicine physician at Children’s Medical Center Dallas and Plano campuses. She completed her pediatric residency at University of Nevada School of Medicine working at Children’s Hospital of Nevada at UMC and Sunrise Children’s Hospital both located in Las Vegas, Nevada. She then moved to Dallas, Texas to participate in pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center / Children’s Medical Center of Dallas. She decided to stay on as faculty at UT Southwestern Medical Center to continue her clinical and research interests which include: procedural sedation, acute pain control, medical ethics and process improvement. Dr. Guiner serves as a member of the Medical Ethics Committee and the Pain Management and Opioid Safety Committee at Children’s Medical Center. Dr. Guiner is also involved in graduate medical education at UT Southwestern Medical Center working closely with medical students, residents and fellows both in the classroom and bedside teaching. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is a member of the Texas Pediatric Society.
