Biography Swee-Ling Levea, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Nephrology. Dr. Levea holds a bachelor's degree in neurobiology from the University of Texas at Austin. She completed internal medicine residency training at the Cleveland Clinic, followed by fellowships in general nephrology and transplant nephrology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, where she was Chief Fellow. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in nephrology, Dr. Levea joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2015. At UT Southwestern, Dr. Levea is Co-Chair of the Professional Development Sub-committee for Supporting Women Achieving Greatness (SWAG). She is also a member of the Nephrology Fellowship Recruitment Committee and the Nephrology Fellowship Clinical Competency Committee. She is the Living Donor Medical Director for the Clements University Hospital Kidney Transplant Committee. Dr. Levea is a member of several professional societies, including the American Society of Nephrology, the American Society of Transplantation, Women in Nephrology, the American College of Physicians, the Texas Transplant Society, and the AST Living Donor Community of Practice Executive Committee. Dr. Levea's research interests include kidney transplantation, pediatric transplantation of liver and kidneys, living donor donation and death donor organs, and kidney diseases.
