Arthur Sagalowsky, M.D. Professor Emeritus School Medical School Department Urology Biography Arthur I. Sagalowsky, Professor of Urology and Surgery, Department of Urology. Education: Undergraduate: B.A. in Zoology, Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana; Medical School: M.D., Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, Indiana; Residency: Urology, Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis, Indiana; Fellowship: American Urological Association Research Scholar in Clinical Pharmacology, UT Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Sagalowsky is a Professor of Urology, with joint appointments in the Departments of Urology and Surgery. He is Chief of the Section of Urologic Oncology and holder of the Paul C. Peters Chair in Urology in memory of Rumsey and Louis Strickland. He has a large clinical practice in all aspects of urological malignancies and urinary tract reconstruction. He has unique surgical experience with: radical cystectomy and continent urinary diversion with orthotopic neobladders and cutaneous reservoirs; open nerve-sparing radical prostatectomy, and recent interest in robotic radical prostatectomy; complex partial nephrectomy and large kidney tumor debulking with involvement of tumor thrombus in the vena cava; and debulking retroperitoneal lymph node dissection for testis cancer. His research interests involve translational studies on kidney, bladder, and prostate cancer diagnosis, behavior and treatment. He has extensive experience in clinical trials, and has published and spoken widely on these topics.
