Biography

Basak Dogan, M.D., is Associate Professor of Radiology and a Eugene P. Frenkel Endowed Scholar in Clinical Medicine at UT Southwestern, where she serves as a member of the Breast Imaging Division and Director of Breast Imaging Research.

Dr. Dogan earned her medical degree from Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey, and completed her residency training at Ankara University Medical School. She then received advanced training in breast imaging through a fellowship program at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. 

Before joining the faculty at UT Southwestern in 2016, she was a member of the faculty at MD Anderson, where she also served as Medical Director of the MD Anderson Ben and Julie Rogers Main Campus Breast Diagnostic Clinic. 

Dr. Dogan is a fellow of The Society of Breast Imaging.

She has over 67 peer-reviewed publications, abstracts on national conferences and book chapters, and has been invited speaker for multiple national and international conferences.​
