Jason Newman, M.D.

Jason Newman, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he serves as Medical Director and treats patients of all ages in the William T. and Gay F. Solomon General Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Clinic.   

Originally from Davenport, Iowa, Dr. Newman holds a bachelor's degree in biology from Trinity University in San Antonio, where he graduated cum laude. He earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. He then completed a combined internal medicine and pediatrics residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr, Newman joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2014.

Dr. Newman’s research interests include safety and quality improvement in the ambulatory setting. At UT Southwestern, Dr. Newman serves as a UT Southwestern Academic Colleges mentor.

Dr. Newman is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Physicians and a member of the Society of General Internal Medicine.

Among his many accolades, he received the UT Southwestern Internal Medicine Clerkship Outstanding General Internal Medicine Ambulatory Teaching Award. 

Personal Note

Outside of medicine, Dr. Newman loves spending time with his wife and four children, running, camping, and volunteering in a local Cub Scout and Scout group.
